During the most recent holiday season, Gap's lowest-priced chain, Old Navy, suffered from less than stellar sales numbers. However, they have a new weapon that will push them above competitors like H&M and Walmart, and that weapon is Amy Poehler. Amy is best known as a co-host of the Golden Globes. This will be the first time that Old Navy uses a celebrity for several commercials. With a 6 month agreement with Poehler, Old Navy hopes to use the actress to create spots for pitching to different consumers. They also plan to use social media to push the film footage due to increased interests. Before 2011, Old Navy was considered Gap's largest brand, and it is their aim to resurrect that image through creative advertisement.
